Air Mail Pilot Vintage Photograph
Air Mail Pilot Vintage Photograph - Wild Bill Hopson - air mail pilot who crashed in Ohio in 1922. Wild Bill and his wild ways set some records on time on his airmail trips. He was reprimanded for being unbusiness like and treating his plane like a stunt plane. Hopson was 38 years old in 1928 when he crashed his airplane in Pennsylvania. Since the plane caught fire, out of the 1,000 lbs. of mail only 10 lbs were salvaged. In his will he asked that his wife scatter his ashes from an airplane.
